In partnership with award-winning Chef Rick Bayless, this culinary workforce development program was designed to remove barriers to entry for young adults pursuing careers in Chicago’s vibrant restaurant scene. I led the creation of a bold, cohesive brand identity that reflects the program’s energy and mission. The dominant orange color palette draws attention across digital and print platforms, while photography featuring young chefs-in-training and dynamic kitchen scenes connects directly with the target audience. Custom chef visuals and a consistent graphic system ensure a unified and engaging visual experience that elevates the program’s presence in Chicago’s hospitality industry.

Following the Board of Trustees’ approval of a new logo, I led the development of a refreshed visual identity system that brought the organization’s brand to life across digital and print channels. Centered around a bold, block-dominant logo, the updated branding uses a six-color dynamic palette to differentiate and categorize collections of media. Each hue was strategically applied to create a visually engaging, intuitive system for users. Through modern layout techniques and innovative brand application, this new identity elevated the organization’s presence and ensured visual consistency across all communications.

As one of the largest shared kitchen spaces and food and beverage incubators in the U.S., The Hatchery Chicago needed a brand strategy that could speak to two distinct target audiences: aspiring food entrepreneurs seeking resources to grow their businesses, and industry professionals and funders looking to support local innovation. Working within a unified color palette of bold greens and vibrant yellows, I developed a flexible visual identity system that showcased the incubator’s expansive kitchen facilities, CPG research and development, and the people behind emerging food brands. This strategic branding approach generated qualified leads for kitchen rentals and highlighted the value of supporting The Hatchery’s mission to drive inclusive economic development through food entrepreneurship.
